The Wednesday Hodgepodge…

1. The first week of August is National Simplify Your Life Week…what’s one thing you could do this week to qualify as a participant?

I have no idea, but I really need to figure it out!  My life has been entirely too complicated this summer!

2. It’s also National Peach Month…peach pie, peach cobbler, or please pour me a Bellini? What’s your peach pleasure?

I love peach cobbler, made from either fresh peaches or peaches that I’ve canned myself.

3. Eleanor Roosevelt once wrote, “Do one thing every day that scares you.” Agree or disagree…explain.

Being the shy, reserved, ‘change-hating’ person that I am, I’d have to disagree.  That being said, I realize that I have to step out on a limb sometimes to grow and learn, but I always do it unwillingly.

4. What’s your favorite household chore? Yes-you have to name one.

Doing the laundry, because it’s the easiest chore to do!

5. Fodors recently listed (what they’ve dubbed) the ten most beautiful sunset spots in America. Click here to read more and see the pretty pictures, but this is their list:

Butterfly Beach in Santa Monica CA, Mount Haleakala in Maui HI, Old Fort Marcy Park in Santa Fe NM, Laguna Beach CA, Hopi Point in Grand Canyon AZ, Four Seasons in Miami FL, Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica CA, Gay Head in Martha’s Vineyard MA, Ensign Peak in Salt Lake City UT, and Mallory Square in Key West Florida.

Have you seen the sun set from any of these spots? If you could choose to watch the sun set this weekend from one spot on the Fodors List, which would you choose? Where was the prettiest sunset you’ve ever seen?

No, I’ve never seen the sun set from any of these spots, but I’d sure like to!  If I had to choose one location, it would have to be one of the beach locations, of course.  To me, the prettiest sunsets are always over water.

6. What’s your favorite or most used app? If you don’t use apps how about your favorite or most visited website?

I don’t use any apps, but I enjoy watching Youtube, and I use Google nearly every day.

7. We’ve recently passed the halfway mark for 2013…write a seven word sentence that sums up your year thus far.

Mostly calm with occasional bouts of chaos!

Random:

I love modern technology!  Even though Brad and Jennifer live miles away, through the magic of sonography and Facebook, this week, I was able to enjoy a ‘sneak peek’ of our little grandson sucking his thumb!  Six months down and counting…

And as for your favorite chore…hey? I have a basket full of laundry that is about waist deep from the floor…CARE to FOLD ‘EM for ME?!!!

  2. As a fellow introvert, I have to agree with you on #3. And of course I agree with you on #5 – the prettiest sunsets are on water.

  3. Congrats on the grandson. Aren’t the modern pictures wonderful!

  4. Modern medicine is truly amazing! Imagine what your grandkids will get to experience! I hope mine get to live in a world where there is no more cancer. We’ve had so much going on this summer I feel like I’m gonna need a vacation when it’s all said and done : )

  5. I know what I can do to simplify my life but I don’t want to do the work! The ultrasound is wonderful. What a blessing!

  6. What a great photo of your grandson! Love it.

  7. Congrats on the grandson. My daughter, another Jennifer, and husband are due in about 3 weeks. They decided not to find out the gender, so we are anxiously awaiting the arrival. So much fun.

  8. my eyes aren’t seeing it apparently…but congrats!

  9. “Do one thing every day that scares you.”

I am completely on board with your answer. Any change in my life is usually done unwillingly, 🙂
